This course provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge on Penetrant Testing including basic principles and techniques, penetrant chemistry, equipment, calibration and control checks, types of discontinuities including measurement and characterising, product technology knowledge of welds, castings and forgings, relevant industry standards and written work instructions. 

Methods covered include colour contrast, fluorescent, solvent removable, water washable, and post emulsifiable.
